Why does HMRC Leaks exist?
There are sophisticated organisations which aim to identify and expose the countless instances of serious misconduct and abuses of powers by the UK Government against innocent citizens. These organisations serve to protect such innocent citizens from the overwhelming and excessive authority of the State by taking action against the Government in order to reach justice and to better inform the general public of their rights.
These dedicated efforts to reach justice – be it by starting claims or launching investigations and so on – can be very expensive unfortunately, however they seem to attract the most coverage and are therefore the most effective method in broadcasting to the general public the misconduct and abuses of powers by the Government in order to raise awareness and send a message of unity and firm opposition against injustice.
The following article published on the BBC (4 Dec 2018) is just one example of the efforts of such organisations raising awareness and applying pressure for inquiries to be opened: Taxpayers treated unfairly by HMRC, says House of Lords report (PDF).
This particular BBC article is longer than the typical article and it is evident there was much to reveal about the House of Lords’ findings on the excessive powers being given to HMRC and their abuse of those powers, and it was evident that there were countless examples from oppressed, innocent citizens fed to the BBC from which only a few were picked for the article as, obviously, every article has a limit on length.*
How is HMRC Leaks different?
HMRC Leaks also believes in raising awareness of abuses of authority and power. We do not, however, believe that oppressed and innocent citizens should have to spend extortionately to reach justice and raise awareness.
HMRC Leaks aims to stand united with the people against illegal conduct. For this reason we invite you as members of the general public, to share with us instances where you have, or someone you know has, been unfairly or illegally treated. Many innocent people are unsuccessful in having their stories published due to the threats they receive from the State, however we believe these must not go unheard and must be published and we guarantee full anonymity.
